Le moulin de Paillas
Les moulins de Paillas étaient au nombre de cinq, implantés au sommet du village de RAMATUELLE, sur la route du chemin des moulins de Paillas qui mène à GASSIN et d'où l'on surplombe toute la côte de CAVALAIRE à SAINT-TROPEZ.
Construits entre le XVIème et le XIXème siècle, tous sont des anciens moulins à vent et aujourd'hui en ruine, excepté l'un d'entre eux, dont le choix d'une restauration a été fait en 1997. Le moulin de Paillas fut inauguré le 22 septembre 2002.
Sa construction remonte au XIXème siècle. Le nom de Paillas provient du premier meunier, Jean-Baptiste Paillas, issu d'une famille d'agriculteurs ramatuellois. A la fin du XIXème siècle, tous les moulins ont cessé de fonctionner, les minoteries industrielles ayant pris le dessus.
Le moulin de Paillas est un des éléments forts du patrimoine bâti de RAMATUELLE. Il a été refait à l'ancienne avec un mécanisme entièrement en bois en état de marche et une meule prête à moudre le blé, ses ailes en bois pivotant selon l'orientation du vent.
Des visites commentées sont organisées le mardi matin et pendant les journées du patrimoine.

Guided tours are held on Tuesday morning and during the heritage days.
